I am going to tell you something that no one really explained to me about making a podcast. The space between your first podcast idea + your first episode going live is about 4,000 miles long. When you start, you may be an optimist like me and think… ooh! This is will be so easy and fun! I just buy a mic and pop the episode up! NO. That is not the path, my friend.
It takes work. But the good kind of work, ya know? The kind were you take a small step and that clearly leads to the next step. But there are a sh*t ton of steps! That said- the first episode is live, yay!
Episode One: Meet Fiona + Four Marketing Fundamentals
The first episode is a bit of get to know me. This is paramount to me because I love to start podcasts from the beginning and often struggle to find a welcome episode where I can actually learn a bit more WHO I am learning from, yes info is great but connection is better.
I then go into the four foundations of marketing that I think every family photographer needs to know. They are as follows:
1.IDENTIFY: Identity the type of photography that brings you joy – the more specific the better. Mine is Adventurous, Snuggly + Playful Lifestyle Family Photography. You can expand more later but build your business off one niche to start.
2.INSPIRE: Consistently show the types of images you would love to shoot more and inspire potential clients into following your brand.
3.EDUCATE: Identity the pain points of potential clients before booking and create educational content around those pain points. You become the trusted expert for achieving sessions with your brand.
4. MOTIVATE: Make your sessions simple + easy to book, utilize a booking strategy to create a bit of scarcity + urgency.
