This sweet family met me up at one of favorite places in my state. It is…. not easy to reach. This ain’t no shoot 5 feet from the parking lot “adventure shoot”. It’s a drive down a one lane dirt mountain road and a HIKE.

When clients meet me in places like this, I’m eternally grateful. I love experiencing these places with our smallest countrykin.

This beautiful photo is your reminder to not discount Spring + early Summer shoots. Quite a few of those dates will be in my Black Friday Sale coming up next month.

I love Fall. It’s my favorite season. But not my favorite season as a photographer. The amount of time I spend refreshing weather apps is…. alarming. At this point, I think I should be given an honorary degree in Meteorology.

I think the draw of Fall photos mostly comes out of habit. Yes the colors are pretty, but prettier than wild flowers in Spring or the blue skies of Summer? I’m just not sure. Here are some reasons to consider Spring:
-
1. New landscape colors- in the late Summer the location pictured above is yellow. That deep, pretty green is dried up. That’s true for many locations. Are yellow grasses pretty? Yes. But so is this 🌿. These also might for fit better for your home decor when you go to print.

2. Wardrobe Colors. If you’ve always done Fall photos, your outfits have likely been fairly similar. Spring opens the door to short sleeve dresses, warmer kiddos and less bundling up.

3. Weather. One of the things that makes Fall scheduling for my clients stressful is that the weather is progressively getting worse. It’s a race against more cold + rain. In the Spring, the weather is getting better every day so the stress of rescheduling diminishes.

SO! Consider Spring or early Summer for 2022. You might enjoy the change and there’s a high chance your photographer will be calmer and more relaxed for your session.
