Another look at the ideal client

One of the first pieces of advice is to: find your ideal client! You are supposed to picture this perfect person so you can direct your marketing towards them.
–

However, I am asking you to challenge the narrative that you need to visualize one type of person for that ideal client and instead realize that the one thing every one of my ideal clients does is to trust ME.
–
That is true whether they are single parents, working full time, or part time, wealthy or middle class- none of that matters. It is MY job to create consistent branding and messaging so that my clients trust me enough to take advice on styling, location, start time and even trust me to transform from a family who may not normally be affectionate in front of strangers to be that way in front of me.
–
Identifying this one type of person is a waste of time if even when you find that person, she doesn’t trust you as an artist. Be consistent, show up in your branding, make booking you simple & working with you fun.

The overview of the chat was as follows:

This marketing framework is: market as though your client is a hero who has a problem that needs solving and you are the guide who will help them get there.
-
So often we market in way that positions our brand as the hero so this transition can take a bit of thought work.
-
First step: map your client journey and see where you may be losing people. None of this will be effective if you have a process where a client cannot reach a destination (book a session, contact me, get on an email list).
-
Marketing as the guide helps build client trust, allows the client to get to know you, eliminates confusion, connect easily with you and grow along with your business.
-
To identify what your hero client might be struggling with before booking you- ask them, look through common email questions or look through your reviews and figure out which problems you solved for great session results.
